Dimitra Balaska holds three undergraduate degrees. She first earned a degree from the Department of Health Visitors. She was then admitted, through qualifying examinations, to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and later completed a degree in Business Administration and Organizations. She holds two master’s degrees: one in Healthcare Management and another in the Organization and Administration of Public Institutions and Enterprises. Her PhD dissertation, conducted at the Department of Economic Science at the University of Piraeus, focused on “Evaluation of Health-Related Quality of Life and Cost in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.” She carried out her postdoctoral research in the field of Digital Transformation in Healthcare. In addition, she has received training in various health-related areas, including family planning, primary healthcare, health education, and more.

She has worked in various roles, including as a Health Visitor at a Mother and Child Protection Center, as an Administrative Officer in a Primary Healthcare personnel office, and at the 1st Regional Health Authority of Attica, where she also served as Head of Human Resources. She also worked in the Public Relations office of the University of West Attica.

Currently, she is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff in the Social Policy Sector of the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Attica. She is an active member of the Research Laboratory of Health Economics, Management, Policy, and Social Protection. She has published articles in scientific journals and has presented at both national and international conferences.
