Sotiris Kyranakos



Sotiris Kyranakos is a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Piraeus.
He holds a Master’s degree in Economic and Regional Development from Panteion University and he is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece. He is also a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (TEFAA) of Thessaloniki..
He served as General Director of SEGAS (Hellenic Athletics Federation) and as General Coordinator of the Authentic Athens Marathon as well as all SEGAS Road Races (2021 – 2025). During his tenure, he was the first to implement cooperation agreements (MoUs) with Local Government authorities, following Public–Private Partnership models.
He is the founder and creator of Authentic Talks, one of the largest multi-thematic conferences centered around the Authentic Marathon (https://authentictalks.gr/

He has collaborated as a project associate with the Deputy Ministry of Sports and has been a speaker on issues of sports tourism, public administration in sports, and the interconnection between sports and regional development at the National Centre for Public Administration, at the London ISC, and at various international universities.
Sotiris Kyranakos has served as Head of Strategic Communications (2020–2024) for the Hellenic Olympic Winners Association and he specializes in the implementation of programs focused on assessing and enhancing the regional impact of sports events.
He actively participated  in the World Athletics Final 2009 as Human Resources Manager and also he was responsible for the Volunteer Awards Ceremony of the Athens Olympic Games and the ceremony marking the handover of the renovated Alexandreio Melathron on behalf of the Ministry of Sports, as well as for sponsorship program management (2006).

      His love and interest in communication and advertising also led  him to start his career in EDEVE (Union of Advertising Companies of Northern Greece) and he served as Human Resources Manager for the Volleyball Final Four of the European Champions League, Thessaloniki 2005 and he has also collaborated with EDEVE (Union of Advertising Companies of Northern Greece).
